The Mesa Community Club (MCC) hosted its annual Halloween Party on Saturday October 28, 2023, at the Mesa Community Center. The festivities began at 5 p.m. and were described by MCC Board member and organizer, Dustin Bryson, as “2 hours of positive chaos with kids (and adults) running around, playing games, and eating.” Cleanup didn’t begin until after 7 pm, since many community members were visiting with one another, not ready for the night to end even though it had begun to snow!

Over 150 participants, evenly divided between adults and children, enjoyed a variety of games and face painting while joining in best costumes, carved pumpkin, and dance contests. The contest winners were awarded gift cards from Taco Bell, Bananas Fun Park, Barnes and Noble Booksellers, Enstrom Candies and the Picture Show. This year featured the addition of a potluck dinner.

The community brought roast pork, salads, lasagna, various dips and MCC provided cheese, Hawaiian, 3- meat, sausage, and pepperoni pizzas. The Plateau Valley Fire Department took photos of participants with a flame and had a bean bag tossing game. There was a prize table filled with books, hats, gloves, bubbles, silly string, neon lights, dinosaurs, rubrics cubes, card games, puzzles, face masks, princess tutus, and lots more. Candy, popcorn, chocolate balls, and yogurt covered pretzels were given away at each of the tables with games.

A BIG thank you to all the volunteers who helped decorate for the event, everyone who worked during the event including students from PVHS, and the numerous community members who helped clean up after it was all over. Special thanks to Dustin Bryson for managing all facets of the annual MCC Halloween Party.

Our community members are what make our events possible!
